Good morning, Catster friends! It's been a long time! I regret that I have neglected my blogging for some time now,(very busy, you know!) but clearly I need to get back in the game, since my little brother, Finn, was recently honored as one of the select diaries of the day, and he was only four months old. Therefore, I must step up my efforts so as not to be outdone by this skinny little interloper. (I really do like Finn, though, and we run and play all throughout the house. He's much more fun than Olivia - all SHE ever wants to do is groom herself!!!!!! That Narcissus guy had nothing on her!)

Anyway, I thought I would write today to share my excitement over something that happened last night. Mom was on the computer and I happened to take a break from playing to see that she was ordering us some more nummy food from Hare Today! As of last fall, we are 100% raw fed kitties (though now that Finn is here, and is eating canned food, Olivia & I have been sneaking a taste here and there) and Hare Today is one of the places Mom goes online to hunt for food for us. Sometimes she gets in the car and goes to hunt, too, and comes back with lots of plastic bags full of stuff for us, all wrapped up in these nifty styrofoam trays. I wonder how she works that out - because that is not the way I've seen it done on the Discovery channel? But anyway, Mom is quite a good hunter if I do say so, and keeps us well supplied with all sorts of delicious raw meat (plus edible bone and organ, to keep it all balanced) that we love and which keeps us very healthy.

Anyway, here's just some of what Mom ordered for us:

1 lb. of ground pheasant with bones & organs

1 lb. of boneless ground duck breast

1 lb. of boneless ground rabbit

1 lb. of boneless ground turkey thighs

1 lb. of boneless ground lamb

pinkie rabbits and week old quail (now THESE I'm not sure about!)

5 lb. of green beef tripe strips with spleen

1 lb. of duck hearts (lots of taurine in heart, which is important for us felines)

1 lb. of ground mutton with bones and organs

3 lb. of beef gullet

whole dressed quail (my dog brother and sister had these last time and said they were good ... we get to try them this time ... so I'll reserve judgement till then)

5 lb. of ground goat with tripe, bones and organs

quail feet (for some edible bone content - we've never had these before either ... hmm)

So ... quite a haul, I'd say. Mom is an excellent hunter, and I can't wait for the box to come. And if any of you cats think you might want to eat a raw diet, too, come on over to the raw forum here on Catster, or send your humans over. The other hunter humans there will help them out, and then you, too, can be a kitchen tiger!

Purrs until next time!

Tanner (the kitchen tiger)
