As a contributing editor for Kovels Antique Trader, Anthony Cavo writes feature articles and the long-running Collector’s Gallery column. He is a certified appraiser of art and antiques and holds degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University and Ross University School of Medicine. As curator for the Bergen County Historical Society and Schoolhouse Museum, he designs and narrates exhibitions, extending his role as a lecturer on history and social issues. As a child, he started collecting 19th-century photographs, shaping his lifelong dedication to history, 18th-century furniture, and rare books.
He is the author of five books, the latest being Love Immortal: Photographs of Dogs and Their People, 1840 to 1940 (HarperCollins), which earned praise from major media outlets including The Washington Post.
His lifelong passion for animals started when his mother, a nurse, took in any stray or injured animal she encountered.
