Teddy 438905     Purred: Mon Jun 18, '07 7:55pm PST  Hi, fellow cat owners. Teddy's mom here. I've noticed that Teddy is getting a little bit of a pouch, and I don't want it to get any bigger (he's my little show boy). Teddy is 10-11 lbs. He's a very active cat (runs around the house, chases the dogs, plays with his stuffed toy mice) and I'm not too concerned about him. Twitch is the one I'm worried about. He has a bigger tummy, and I've tried playing with him with multiple different toys, but he gets tired of them. He'll just go and flop down into his bed and glare at me. Catnip seems to get him excited, but he gets very irritable afterwards. He weighs 13-14 lbs, and he has a smaller body frame. I'm afraid of switching foods because I don't want the diet food to affect Teddy (maybe it wouldn't, not sure?) and our budget is extremely tight. Right now, both of my boys free feed (not sure how much they're eating, maybe 2 1/2-3 cups a day between the two?) and I want to switch them over to controlled feedings. Maybe down to 3/4 cup for each of them? But I don't know how they'll react to it. I could stand the meows and scratches, but what if they start misbehaving beyond that (spraying, jumping into our food, etc.)? Please share your advice and experiences with me.
