The white things are not flea eggs; put a spot on like Advantage every 30 days and don't miss even during winter, and you will have no problem. I suspect the white stuff is just flaking skin. Fleas lay very, very tiny eggs, and they do not stay on the host, they fall off and hatch on the ground, go thru larva/pupa stages, hatch and then the adult jumps onto a host. .

I think you probably have a purebred Siamese back in your pedigree (not unusual for one to be outside in the 7's and 80's, so we see lots of DSH with the pointed pattern. His face shape, by breed , is more like a Tonkinese.
What he is , DSH Domestic Short Hair , COLOR is seal point. Unlike dogs,90% of cats don't have ANY purebred in the background, if they do it's most commonly pretty far back in the line. These days, no one lets pedigreed cats run loose, and most are spay/neutered anyway

Choosing the Right Cat > Why Do People Go To Breeders?

Another thing, Tia... lots of breeders like Meowma have a clause in the contract that asks for the cat to be returned if anything ever happens so that the family can't keep the cat, and we will help. She also says tell you future cat breeder that while you want a MC, he should get either a Bombay or Burmese who are the lovingest, bestest, and sweetest kitties ever--and we don't need a lot of brushing unless we are show cats!

Midas, I think the chip could just be a number in a database, you would call a central number that would contact the owner so they need not know that catnumber 354 lives at 1945 puursimmon st, etc, just to look for a white cat with oneblack ear for instance. You call the number on the app, they call the owner and hook you up, sort of like the home again microchip system.
I DON"T let my cats out and DO microchip (this might be even better in an improved implantable chip!) butam still missing a cat--big Ben got out when we had a near tornado --the door to his quarters blew open as well as the second door, to where he was. if he had a tracking device, I would have had him back in short order frown

It may be that it HURTS when she poops and thinks the box is doing it --original BooBoo did this and it turned out to be a PAIN issue; once corrected Meowma had to change boxes and work on retraining, but once the issue was corrected no more problems

Also, 'Rissa, if you Google "Zyrtec for cats' and you will see a whole lot of veterinary hospitals pop up suggesting this treatment and the 1/4 pill once a day for cats, it's not something our human thought up anddid without professional advice !

Dog products like Advantage II are safe, but you can't just 'put a drop on". You DO have to put the correct amount...meaning get a 1 ml syringe and put .4 ml on an under 9 pound cat or .8 on an over 9 pounder. The product is the same just the amount in the tube is different. If you go this route it is a MUST that you read the label where it has 'active ingredients" and make sure the dog and cat products are EXACTLY the same percentage of ALL active ingredients. Here, we have 12 cats and we can all be dosed from one dose of the biggest dog size Advantage II (at the cost of 1 1/2 catsized doses, all 12 of us get done, BIG savings!).Lots of shelters and rescues do this also, they have better uses for $10 per cat or more monthly when there are large numbers of kitties. Advantage does have one "plus" version or the like that is NOT cat safe. If you don't want to read the label and do the measuring correctly, or cannot interpret the label information correctly, DONT DO THIS!!! Also some products don't have permethrin but DO have other ingredients that aren't safe. Again, if there is ANYTHING in the dog version but not the cat labeled of a brand name, or percentages are different, do not use.
You will notice also, if you compare, products like Advantage II for dogs do say "do not use on cats". When in the store compare the label on one that you know is unsafe for kitties, and you will see that the label has a MUCH stronger warning; this is the one you watch out for.

redirect! We agree--YELL when kitty sticks or bites, but mostly you as a human remember hands and other parts are NEVER to ne used as toys--redirect to a wand, fishin pole or 'teaser' toy IMMEDIATELY when kitty gets ready to play! Try not to ever let them play with body parts to the point of yelling "OOOWWW!!!!!"
