How timely that I am here reading Hazel Lucy's topic about needing a Tech support Blog when I"M HERE LOOKING FOR TECH SUPPORT! I'm looking at an URL given to me by support@catster called the admin group-7918 but it doesn't exist anymore!

There are hints and to do's all over cyberspace but getting the right transfer of media onto Catster is tricky. Anything I have achieved has been through my pleas to indiviual cats.

So yes! Let's get tech info all in one place--"We Need A Tech Support Blog".cheer

We are purring for you. Please heed the suggestions given here. Mr. D is so wise and Nina's suggstions for using a dog for the hunt of precious Oreo is something I've never heard of but if it would work....! Just know we are purring for you.

I got weighed today at the vet's office. I gained one ounce. I expect that's not good enough after two weeks of appetite inducing herbs but at least I didn't lose. Meowma will weigh me again in two more weeks.smile

Xena,
Thanks for the well-thought out suggestions. You'll br surprised to hear Meowmy did try those things in the past, in 2006, when I first went throgh this non-eating phase. The only difference was, I had to go into one of the bathrooms 'cause we live in a large open Loft! Therefore the bathrooms are the only rooms. I felt like I was being punished every time i was put in there and I would not eat. Also my brofur would sneak in the bathroom every chance he got. Then his behavior started to change, meowing all the time. It was a nightmare. So that's when our regular vet suggested our present naturopathic vet whose herbs helped the most. Another thing meowmy does is supervise us at mealtime but she needs to learn to do it vigilantly or my brofur gollups down my bowl of food.

On a positive note, I ate more in the last 24 hrs. and meowmy saw that my bowl of dried food was empty this a.m. That dried food is ONE food my brofur doesn't eat. I hate getting the herb treatment, though, and I've stated to avoid and walk away from my meomy when she approaches me.

All in all, I feel that my meowmy's supervising our eating times and the herbs are key to getting me back to health. Perhaps in the middle of the week, I can get another weigh-in and be shown to be gaining, then everyone involved will relax and no ultra sound would be needed.

The changing of foods is possibly a true cause. Thanks for mentioning it. We switched but I can't remember quite when. I was just on a dry food and liked it but my brofur was on a raw diet which landed up causing him problems. So my meowmy had to find a replacement for him and she figured I cold have it as well. BUT she continued to put out the dry food I've been eating for yeaars. I only eat a little bit of the dried and the canned now. Meowmy thinks some of the problem is psychological 'cause my brofur loves food and usually wins in eating mine as well. I let him have it 'cause his 'alpha maleness' maks me anxious and nervous. So far the vet is looking at the physical reasons. Meowmy is very nervous about the vet bills, too.

Yup~ My vet mis-spoke. My thyroid test is back and it too is normal.. Why I'm not is a mystery. The vet's office says we'll give the herbs another 5 days and if the weight isn't any better, I'll have to have an ultra sound.shrug

Thanks, Scooter. I just needed confirmation of my own thoughts. My meowmy is phoning the vet back tomorrow. I'm hoping the Vet misspoke and meant 4-5 days.
