Cat Health > kobe is getting VERY fat! HELP!!!!

It always amazes me how little cats really need to maintain a healthy weight. Abbie and Heidi are a good solid 12 pounds each, yet they only eat 1/4 of a cup of dry (Wellness and Evo) and 1/8 of a small can of Wellness every day. They're always telling me they're starving, but their girths say otherwise!!

My two girls get extra stinky gas when they eat canned food with too much fish in it, so I no longer buy the fishy varieties for them. It could just be something in kitty's food is not agreeing with her. Hopefully it will lessen when Mercedes is on better food.

Cat Health > My cat is losing patches of fur? (picture included)

Sammie went through a period where she was losing patches of fur, too - you can see it in this photo: Alaidh and Sammie on the bed

My vet could never figure out what was causing it, but he told me to give her a bath once a week with oatmeal shampoo and to give her a raw chicken drumette once a day. She hated the baths, but loved the drumettes...and one of them cleared up her bald patches!

Cat Health > my kitten is peeing everywhere!!!

If you've already confirmed she hasn't got an infection, then the only thing I can think of is to close her in the bathroom, or other small room that doesn't have a carpet, with her food and bed and a litter box, so she'll get used to using the box. In the mean time, get some enzymatic cleanser to get rid of any old pee smell. I'm sure there are other Catsters who can recommend some.

Good luck!

Curling up with a golden retriever is a great thing to do. I heard that sooner or later Mummy is planning on adopting one of those. Maybe I'll try curling up with him if he ever moves in! I'm so glad your worm is gone and you can breathe!!

Sometimes, if a cat has a lot of hair in her tummy, it can cause a few little "cling-ons" to hang on in the rear. Ninja might just be pooping out a little bit of fur. If there's no change in poop consistency, there's probably nothing to worry about. If her poop becomes soft, though, there might be a problem you'll need to address.

As big around as her thumb??!? Yikes! A kitten's head is tiny! It must have taken up the entire sinus cavity! Poor Lucky! I'll bet he feels much better now. smile

Raw Food Diet > bones!

It was my vet who recommended the chicken wings for Sammie. Actually it was "drummettes", which is just part of the wing. Sammie would crunch the bone and eat it all.

The choking risk is for cooked bones. If they're raw, there's no problem.

My favourite toy is Abbie! After Abbie, I love Mummy's reusable grocery bags. I also like those little plastic balls with bells in them, though I think mine are all under the fridge...
