A kind witness stopped and brought me to the shelter where Mom adopted me a month later. I also lost part of my tail in an unknown incident before Mom adopted me and had to have surgery as it didn't heal right. I'm now 13 years old.

They may not be full grown, but neither are a lot of human teenage parents! I agree with the advice already given - please keep them apart in different rooms (or if you have to, large cages) and if possible, move up the spay/neuter appointments.

You really have to read all the fine print too regarding reimbursement, deductibles, and pre-existing conditions. Reimbursement is usually off a contracted rate (what the insurance company considers usual and customary fees) and usually reimbursement is 70-90% of covered expenses once the deductible is met, depending on the plan. Deductibles can be either annual OR per incident. Look over pre-existing clauses very carefully too and ask questions if vague or unclear. Once company refused to reimburse for one of Linus' trips to the vet for conjunctivitis - because they already paid out on it within the past calender year on him when he had it earlier in the year and now considered it "pre-existing"! The other company was paying for Mickey's asthma inhalers... until the policy renewed - then they denied the claim and informed Mom when the plan renews, conditions on record are considered "pre-existing" and he would have to go 6 months symptom-free AND treatment-free for them to consider paying for his asthma meds again. Mom immediately dropped the plan.. Their way of getting out of paying for chronic (long-term) conditions.
Remember that insurance companies are out to make money and they often will raise premiums as your pet gets older or even drop them. Also YOU still have to come up with the money first and pay the vet yourself, submit the claim, and hope for reimbursement (maybe in 1-2 months). Having pet insurance does NOT guarantee you will be reimbursed by any means! Most pet insurance companies also will NOT cover "routine" things like vaccines, annual exams, flea and heartworm meds, and dentals... unless you opt for a more expensive plan!
My opinion? Pet insurance is not worth it. Get some free pet insurance quotes online and put the money you would be spending in premiums into a separate bank account especially for veterinary expenses OR see if you can give you vet a payment each month directly to put on your account for future use. Care Credit is also an option for emergencies. If you have a good relationship with your vet, you may even be able to set up a payment plan with your vet if they are willing in case of an emergency,

Unaltered cats expend a lot of energy with trying to finding a mate on their mind (roaming, howling, heat cycles). Do you play with her? Two 10-15 minute play sessions a day with an interactive toy (wand toy, laser light) will be good for her to keep her active and mentally stimulated. What kind of food is she eating? Perhaps she should eat an "indoor", "light", or "less active" formula now if she's not already.
