 | | Purred: Thu Oct 11, '07 2:40pm PST | |  | |  | | I had the radioactive iodine treatment about 4 to 5 years ago for a thyroid tumor. The procedure was successful, and I am very happy that I had it. I hate taking pills. My parents didn't want to put me through years of being pilled. They took me to Columbus, Ohio, and I had it done at a clinic there. I had to stay for about four days, and then my parents came to pick me up. The only hard part about the procedure was the car ride! Once I came home, my parents were not supposed to put me on their lap because I was radioactive. They had to keep my used litter for two weeks, so that I wouldn't set off the sensors at the landfill. All of my blood tests since then have said that my thyroid is working normally. I now have to take Pepcid AC for my kidneys. I am thankful that I don't have to be double-pilled for the hyperthyroid, too!! |  |  | |  |
