Maine Coon > Notice how many Maine Coons are rescues?

My Grizabella (Grizzy) passed away this past November. She was the BEST! After her passing, I came across catster. As I look through Maine Coons, I see many of them are are rescues. Does anyone have any idea why? I do realize many cats, all kinds are rescues with so many abandoned cats in our world, but it seems like most Maine Coons that I come across, have been rescued.

Miss Grizabella was the best! Because of her, I have the love for Maine Coons. She was so friendly and smart! The fur was EVERYWHERE though. I still find her furs and it has been6 mos. since she passed.
