Well..er..actually take the block of wood off the top and then the lid! 2-legger's friend warned her about the lid AND the way to get a few kibbles to drop from the hopper. I'm really good at getting down on one shoulder and sticking my paw up the chute to release a few kibbles at a time. Pandi is not so smart and does not get any extras!!  Anyway, 2-legger said that if I had to work that hard to get a few kibbles from Automom, then I could have them. She thought I worked off the calories for those few pieces and would be OK. As soon as I know what calories are I'm going to figure out how to keep them. |  |  | |  |

| | Purred: Tue Feb 10, '09 5:36pm PST | | | | | | We (me and Pandora) share one Le Bistro PetMate and have had the same one for 2 years now. We named it "Automom." Automom is very reliable and never forgets to feed us. This works out much better for us since the 2-legger mom often works late or has something else going on in the evenings. 2-legger bought Automom when the vet rudely suggested that I might lose some weight if my feedings were controlled vs. free feedings.
Here is our schedule: we wake 2-legger at 5 AM and she gives us our wet food. Around 12:19 PM Automom deposits 1/2 cup of high quality dry food (grain free-high protein). Pandora has the first seating and when just about half remains, it's time for me to be seated and have lunch. Again at exactly 7:57 PM (2-legger likes to set the feedings at off times), Automom drops off another 1/2 c. of the most excellent food. 2-legger gets home anytime after 9PM and gives us a greenie or three.
2-Legger Mom here: I have the older model of LeBistro (black plastic) with the fixed bowl. I have been thinking of replacing it with the new model with a detachable bowl, which would make it easier to keep clean. This has been such a great feeder for me. Coffee's weight has stablized and she lost just over 1.5 lbs. I chose to feed high protein food versus low-calorie. When I travel, I don't have to worry about the pet-sitter over/under feeding, or feeding them at different time from their regular schedule. The cats adjusted to it quickly. | | | | |
