Even though your Akita gets along with other dogs, you must introduce your dog and the dog you're thinking of adopting in neutral territory. But, as you've admitted that your dog, Kimba, doesn't play well with other dogs, I think it is best you don't get another dog or puppy, because, even if they do seem to get along in the future, should you bring an Akita puppy or any other puppy or dog home, there's a good chance that there will fights between the dogs or aggressive behavior towards the puppy, and it only takes a split second for this action to occur.
So, my advice would be not to adopt another puppy or get an Akita puppy at this time. I've worked with Akitas and own one myself who also displays similar behavior your Kimba is displaying when they hear puppies on television, however, bring another puppy or dog here, mine most likely will show some aggressive behavior toward it. That's why I won't get another puppy or dog at this time. | | | | |
