My Mom had to go into an assisted living facility that wouldn't let me go with her, so I ended up at the county Animal Control. A special needs group said they would take me because I was diabetic, so my Mom pulled me for them. BUT, when they found out that I was 11, they told her to take me BACK to the pound because no one wants to adopt an old, special needs cat! My Mom was MAD, at them, not me, & told them never to call her again. Now I'm no longer diabetic, because I'm no longer taking the steroids that caused the diabetes, but the long term steroid treatments my first Mom had me on for skin allergies has all but destroyed my kidneys, so now I'm very thin, & have patchy fur, but I still have a great appetite & an excellent quality of life for as long as the Kitty Goddess sees fit to give me, & I know when my time comes, that my family won't let me suffer, because for all my age & medical condition, THEY love me! |  |  | |  |
