This is the place for us to share any creative gift ideas. If you make gifts of food for holidays or birthdays, here is the place to tell how and what you like to do special.
My Lady makes food baskets to give to co workers. She makes hot chocolate mixes,tea mixes or soup mixes layers it in a large mason jar, ties a ribbon on the jar, along with the recipe. She then adds simple little items in the basket to compliment the food item. You can find such items at Wal Mart or any dollar store..Like mugs, spoons, crackers, ect;
She bought a set of spoons last week at Big Lots. 24 spoons for 5$..
You can dip the spoons in melted candy coating/bark..dip it then in candy sprinkles, wrap the ends in festive plastic wrap and place with hot cocoa mix..Candy canes work well dipped on one end in chocolate bark too!
I cant wait to hear what our Chefs have to share.

Thank you so much for your creative ideas, Chef Rooster. My mum will add them to her own. She tended not to be creative with gifts in the past, I don't know why not, 'cause she's always been creative with her decorating--I know--it's always been fun unravelling it! Anyways, she just packed her baked goods in a plastic container and wrapped them in Xmas paper. But she gave the cocoa with a chocolate dipped spoon (bought, of course) thing a try, once. You have inspired her with your ideas and she intends to incorporate more of this home making touch this year. She especially likes the idea of placing everything in a large mason jar. If she dreams up something special (Not!) she'll add her idea to the long list she expects she'll see here.big grin

My mom makes lasagna on Christmas eve and delivers 3 pans of it to her closest friends. She also makes banana / pecan cakes and delivers 3 of those to other 3 closest friends. Then she bakes molases cookies for the neighbors. She makes a card to go with each one.
