Aloha friends! wave

It is with a heavy heart that I share information about my friend Kirby who has been missing for almost 2 weeks and his mom is frantic.

I'm cross-posting the story that his mom wrote in Silly Sab Stories.

I have been hoping not to have to write this but Kirby has been missing for over 2 weeks and I am running out of hope. Even tho he is not my cat, I love him like my own and tried to get him used to being an indoor cat over the past 6 month or so. I had him in overnight and about 50% of the daytime up from 5 minutes when I started with him. His owner leaves him out all the time and whenever she sees him staying at my house alot she re-establishes ownership of him by keeping him in, but usually only for 3 days to a week. She's not someone who will answer the door or talk to the neighbors so I left her a note last week and asked her to please call me and let me know if Kirby was OK. She never called and so I put ads on craigslist and have been checking daily with the local shelters. I walk around and call him and check sheds and ask neighbors if they've seen him, but nothing. I can't seem to mind my own business when it comes to him because I just absolutly adore him and don't know what to do. Please purr for Kirby and if you are Pray-ers, please pray. I can hardly bear his absense and look for him constantly. If he is gone, she doesn't even go outside to look for him. He's so wonderful. Just don't know what else to do...?

Kirby's Catster Id# is 719514 - please send his mom some advise or support in this difficult time.

*****UPDATE*******

Good news from Kirby's mom's neighbor! He is alive and well, but trapped inside Kirby's "other mom's" house. Does any cat have any ideas about how we can get Kirby to be able to live with his "real mom," who cares for him deeply?

Here's the updated post about Kirby:
My neighbor who lives next door to Kirby just came to my door to tell me she saw locked Kirby inside his house. He was crying to go outside but his owner wont let him out. I knew she was getting upset that he was staying at my house so much. She does this occasionally-re-establishes ownership. I am just thrilled that he is safe and alive and at least he is not in danger of coyotes or cars running him over. I miss him SO much though and if I ever have the chance of having him for myself I will take it! Thank you all for your purrs and prayers. I am so relieved and yet so troubled that she couldn't even bother to let me know he was Ok. It has been agony not knowing. My neighbor told me the woman has no heart and I'm starting to believe her

Great news about Kirbyhappy dance I'm pleased to hear all is well. I'm sorry things aren't going too well I know cats can be very social animals. We here love fur mum Raza ,and she is brought many many treats and special toys that we know only she will like. She likes cane baskets so she has one on top of the cat tree, She just loooove the cat tube toys, so she has two of those. BUT she loves to go outside too.
Here in New Zealand is is common for cats to be indoor and outdoor cats. They have no preditors.
Anyway what I'm getting at. Raza sometimes comes home beautifully groomed. The human tells her she is a lucky lady and has spoken to a couple of the neighbours that she knows Raza visits but none of them have combed her. So we are not sure who does it. We are ok with it, and don't mind her visiting and cheering up someone elses life, as long as they don't take her. I just hope they know she is loved at home. She does have a collar on and the human is thinking of putting a note on it. The human has an idea which house she may visit, since she went door knocking. One of the houses nobody was home. The neighbour to the house said they had a fluffy torti, as she has seen her grooming it. The human laughed and said it was probably ours and it was probably Raza she saw. This house is.. if you went by road, is quiet a few houses down the road but when you go to the house, it would only be 15 meters from ours with an empty paddock between the houses (as we are both down long driveways).
I think what I'm saying is the owner maybe worried you want to take her cat. She may also love it.

It is common for cats to go visiting here. It was sooo funny one day the human was trying to explain what a Birman looked like to the other human. To her amazement she looked down at their feet and low and behold a Birman cat just strolled into the house did a few laps around the feet looked around then wandered back outside.

Not really what you expect but we were in a new neighbourhood and I assume he/she was just checking us out. Balty always hated cats in his area so we never saw the fur again.

Aloha Mr. D and Raza! wave

Thanks for the words of love and support. It means alot to me and to Kirby's Mom. The last I heard is that the lady who "officially" keeps Kirby hasn't let him out in several weeks. Needless to say she is sad and misses him very much.

I shall pass this thread on to her so she knows that there are furs and humans that care about her and Kirby!
