Yay!! I'm excited to be doing this with others....I've made a few of the knitted ones and it's hard to stay motivated because they're SO BIG!!!

I'll be doing a POA-style Ravenclaw. I only have enough bronze for this type! I'm debating purchasing a ravenclaw patch for mine...and am also debating monogramming mine. Decisions decisions!!

Adding my initials in a fancy way to one end of the scarf. That way, no one else could take it, and if I lost it people would know it was mine.

Oh, and I'm making one for my boyfriend so that way we could tell them apart. My scarves inevitably end up smelling like my perfume, and most guys wouldn't want that, right?

The first one I added initials to, I did AFTER the knitting was finished. It was really easy to do and looked great!

For mine I'm going to be a bit more subtle. I think I'm just going to make a chart for my initials and purl those stitches ,so that way it won't stick out TOO much but it will still be clear which is mine smile.

I'm thinking about getting a patch to sew onto one end of my scarf. I know the movie ones didn't have them, but I think it would be cool anyway smile. Still debating, though...

Just checked my pawmail, sorry for the delay. I'm going to start a Ravenclaw scarf next to wear to the movie premier this summer. I'm very interested in learning to knit letters if you have a good resource as to how this is done. I'd like to add an "R" to the scarf when I'm through smile

This is such a great idea, thanks for all of the great links!

Hey Sirius,
For adding letters afterward, I just use duplicate stitching. It's pretty easy to do!

Last time I just used some graph paper to graph out my letters, but there are several publications that have printed graphs of letters for this very purpose!!
