Ma has read a lot of Anne Rice's vampire books. way to go She will have to look into her other ones!

We're still working through the P.D. James books...they aren't very long, but don't flow very well. Ma can't NOT finish a book though! laugh out loud

Mom said she doesnt know anything by PD James. There are large gaps in her literary knowledge! She is reading "The Junk Drawer Corner Store Front Porch Blues" right now. Laughing a lot.
Mom is worrying about daddy having cancer, and she needs light weight silly stuff to keep her mind entertained and off serious thoughts. This book is about the silliest one yet.

That's a good thing, Chadwick. Can't be worried all of the time.

Mother had never heard of P.D. James - someone was giving their books away at a garage sale and she took a couple to sample them. I guess she is a British author - they are older books. Ma just started the last one she has, and it's dragging already...confused

Hi, Chadwick!! Hope it is okay if I jump back in after being away so long! If you are still on a laughing kick with your reading, tell your Mom to read The Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson. Mom loves all of his books!
way to go

That's what my ma does, too, Jasmine. She has always loved to read, even as a little kid. Was never much of a TV watcher. shrug

Same with my mom. She is reading The Way Things Are by Paul Horgan right now. She said it is disturbing but good and reminds her of Flannery O'connor's writing. The first story is particularly disturbing and she nearly threw the whole book in the trash, but she went on anyway and so far has not been so "not ok" with the other stories". She said if you get that book for your mom or dad tell them to skip the first story. Really.
