Meow! I am new to this group! I weigh 16 pounds, and I LOVE to eat. However, Mommy wants to start measuring my food out each day because if she fills my bowl up I will just keep eating and eating and eating. I love food so much! I don't want mommy to portion my food because I get upset when my bowl is empty, but I also don't want to gain any more weight. How much should I be eating?

My Mummy asked the vet the same question and was told to go by the food bag instructions. Well this household has 6 cats. So Mummy does this, she figures out the portions for 6 of us by weight of the largest, 6 cups total and puts out 3 cups divided in our dishes in the morning and 3 in the evening. So far so good. We also get treats in the afternoon. Again by the bag instructions. I like my treats alot. MOL

I have the endless food bowl much like the endless salad bowl my humans get sometimes at The Olive Garden. I don't overeat on the dry food though -- unless my canned food is cut to every other day and then I start gaining weight cause I eat so much dry food that it shocks my humans! shockshockshockshockshockeekeekeekeekeek
When I do get canned food and it's starting to become more frequent since Mom has noticed that my weight stays down or I actually lose (someone at another group said not to cut out the canned on diets, just to watch the type and to change the type of dry food!) when I get canned food almost every day. Of course, I'm only allowed a small can size or 3 oz. at a time. I tend to gobble and overeat the canned food otherwise. I don't have a set food schedule on the dry but on the canned I do. I also am not allowed treats though I'm about to get the cat greenies and am not allowed much people food at all!
