 |  |  |  | Hi Cricket. My great uncle Einstein, Cindy's first Keeshond, had Cushings disease...it isn't too odd to have it show up in older dogs. Way, way, simplified description is your system is producing more cortisol than it needs if you have Cushings Disease...cuz the adrenal glands are not working correctly...for a variety of reasons...could be a tumor on the adrenal gland, adrenal gland malfunction, or pituitary gland isn't sending the right signals to the adrenals. It IS treatable!!! Uncle Einstein did okay with it...just gotta get a firm diagnosis and then go with treatment. Pawmail me if you want to talk more about it...and hang in there. Your human might get more stressed over this than you do, humans being humans...so kinda nudge her towards other doggie people who've dealt with Cushings, cuz talking about it always seems to help the humans out. |  |  |  |  |
