Why her?

Of all cats, why Patience? She's too young. She just turned 4 last September. She was diagnosed last March, and I was in denial. She wasn't started on anything then, because she seemed fine. Recently however, her symptoms came raging back. I had a blood test on her and her BUN was 235. 235! I don't know if she'll make it though Christmas. She means so much to me, I don't know what life could be without her. I haven't been able to have very good sleep lately. I'm just so worried.

We know the feeling of helplessness . . . of her slipping away from you and you can't do anything about it.

I can't answer your question as to why. That is something that just needs to be accepted. Just love her and enjoy every day that she is still with you. Live each day to its fullest.

Oh, Patience, I'm so sorry this happened to you. You are much too young, but unfortunately it sometimes happens. How are you doing now? Are you on fluids? That should really help with your BUN levels. How's your creatinine? That's the most telling number. You might need some IV fluids for a couple of days, but with work, I think you can get those numbers stabilized. Please keep me posted!
