 | |  | | Well, I'm not positive about all Nebelungs, but mine (who is a mix with Chartreux & possibly Russian Blue) hasn't minded it. We've had a fake tree, but I think one year we've had Gigi it was real. She explored around it and rubbed her cheeks on the low branches, but besides that, no damage to the tree or the cat. She likes to hide underneath it, behind the presents and stuff, too. 
Gigi is 2 1/2 years old, and she's had all her Christmases with us. So far she's never had a problem with the tree, and right now we have ours up, and she just explored it, slept underneath it for a bit, and that was it. Let me know what happens with your kitty! I'm sure they'll be fine.
