Hi everyfur and welcome to Special Kittens!! cheer

Now that we have a good few number of members I thought it was time we all got to know each other a little better!! So the main reason for this thread is for everyone to post anything they want about themselves!! Where you're from, your favorite hobbies and play habbits, what disabilities you might have (if you dont have any thats fine! Every kitty is special in their own way!!), and tell us why your mommies and daddies think your so special!!

Ill start!!!way to go
My name is Legolas, Lego for short. My meowmy has known me since I was just one day old, and fell in love with me right away. I love to be with her, and have to stay right by her side at all times (im even lying on the desk as she is typing this for me!!). Also as you can tell by my pictures I only have one eye!! I was born this way, along with other muscle and neurological problems, Im a very slow learner and still act like a baby. I also cant control some of my muscles when I sleep, and I tend to cringe and twitch alot. My meowmy was warned that I might not make it past a few weeks old, but she never gave up on me!! Im now 5 and happy as Ive ever been. I love her very much and am happy for all she has done for me!!!

Hi everyone!wave
I am Tam (we know NOT where that name came from,) as that was my name at the rescue center, and I am hearing impaired. Mom wondered why the only words I responded to was "NO," and not anything else and then she caught me watching her face shortly after she had adopted me and then she came and talked directly into my ear and my ear never flinched. So, she and Papa took me to the vet, who found nothing. But, there is no doubt that I cannot hear. I make up for it by responding to vibrations and if something falls in the house, I jump almost out of my skin! laugh out loud Mom has spent a lot of time trying to teach me sign language, or her rendition of it, and I can pretty much know what she is thinking ... or maybe that is my ESP coming into play! dancing I tend to stay in my own little world, and when Rebel wants me, he tends to go thru the house with a blood curdling yowl just to find me, which he usually does. Mom has thought of putting a chip in me, but has yet to make up her mind about that. I love my Mom as she seems to think ahead of me. She tells me I am smart ... and I must admit I think she is right! She has learned VERYquickly that I respond to the word "EAT" really quickly! happy dance She is trying to get me hooked on the word "wand" and while I LOVE to play with it, I cannot hear the word "wand," but if she beats it on the floor, I can feel the vibration and "coming running," ... if I feel like it, that is!
Mom was going to take me to an ear specialist, but there was only one in town, and he is no longer in business, so we just keep on doing what we are doing and having fun while we are at it.
If anyone else has hearing problems, I know Mom would love to know about it and talk about what may work for them.
Hugs
Tam kitty

Hi everyfurr!! My name is Irwin. I live in the same house with Lego, my meomy is her meowmy's mother. I'm not a special cat like Lego or Tam but I'm special because of how I came to be with my Meomy. My daddy was cutting grass in the pasture and the tractor broke down, when daddy got off the tractor to look and see what was wrong he found me right beside the tractor. I was only about 4 weeks old and was about half dead. My cat mother had abandon me probably because I was the runt. They brought me inside and nursed me back to health. The day I was found was the same day that Steve Irwin died so that is why they call me Irwin. I was supposed to belong to Lego's meowmy but I attached myself to her mother. Me meowmy was out of work at the time and I followed her everywhere and we bonded. I never grew very big. I'm 2 years old now and still only weigh 7 lbs. I'm very special to my meomy.kitty

Hi All wave
I am Rebel and I am Tam's "bestest buddy!" I am definitely NO kitten, and do not have any "special needs," unless you consider being spoiled rotten a "special need!" kitty Meow!!!
I share my home with Tam, who is a good kitty and a lot of fun to chase around the house. I have been with my Mom and Dad since I was 7 weeks old and they are "the best!" cheer
Prior to having Tam come to live with us, I had another "bestest buddy" who was known as Spunki (a gentle giant) but he got sick and had to leave us. Within a year or longer I was getting lonesome, so Mom and Dad rescued Tam and brought him home and now we are the best of buddies.
Our Mom ... and Dad, are the best as they let us "rule the roost!" Needless to say we take FULL advantage of it.
Thank you to Tam for allowing me join "Special Kittens" with him. He really is a good kitty ... and if you don't tell him, I would appreciate it ... but I do love him! laugh out loud

Tell your stories feline friends!!
This is Stumps, almost 3 yrs old now! applause
My mother & I have conversations all day, she thinks I dont understand her, though sometimes i dont. She tells me everything is OK when I am scared or unsure & as soon as she does I am not afraid of anything!! So you see how she can be useful and why I keep her around so much, we speak the same language.

I was born with a disability and as it usually goes in packs, names are given for physical traits or attitudes. Being called Stumps due to my arms, is not an insult, I wear it proud. I dont know if Im different then others but I do know that I feel pain more often. That doesnt stop me from chasing or fighting & playtime is the best when I can claw at things or jump really high!

Jumping down or walking on hard surfaces is difficult and painful pour moi so my human makes me forts and stairs! I show her how much I love it by smiling to her during construction & she makes more of them! I have travel across my country to live with her again and my advise to everyone is dont get on a plane with a crying baby confused I like my carrier bag though, it's a part of my forts and is comfortable on trips.

Im gonna go play now, meow!
