I have had quite a few fosters this year and I have always felt better if they have a little bit of our home to go with them to their forever home.
I make each one a blankie out of fleece. I buy it for about $2 a yard at walmart. I put one on top of the other in 2 layers, like light blue and brown, and cut into 6 pieces. I then take and cut 1/2 inch wide buy 2 inches long slots along all 4 edges. I then tie the front layer to the back layer and it's a nice weight blankie. You don't have to use fancy knots. And if you wanted you can sprinkle a little catnip inside the 2 layers.
I keep these around the house and when one of the kits gets a forever home a blankie goes with them. Yeah, they have all colors of cat hairs on them, but it will remind them of their brothers and sisters and comfort them on their first night away.
I'm not a quilter, but I'd like to start a quilt with little squares of photos of all my fosters. Anyone here quilt?

My Mommy loves to quilt! She's made three bed-size quilts already and is currently working on her fourth. My favorite part is when she spreads them out on the floor to put together with the batting between - I help her by laying on the fabric to keep the layers straight! (At least until she shoos me off!! MOL)
Please let me know if you need help!
