In September I started my two cats on the road to an all raw food diet. They are now transitioned 100% to raw food. I follow the prey model diet for the two of them. And they are doing great. Bishop had chronic diarrhea for years. The vet had him on special vet food and never got it under control. I always felt so bad for him. After about a month or so on the raw diet his diarrhea completely cleared up. This leads me to strongly believe that his diarrhea issues were caused by something in the commercial pet food. He may have even been allergic to one or more of the many added ingredients and fillers in the canned and kibble food. He absolutely loves his chunks of meat that he gets. He begs and begs while I am chunking them up so I put down a meaty bone for him to chomp on while he is waiting for his food. I am very happy with my decision to switch my kitties to raw cheer

That's great Bishop! It sounds like the switch was fairly easy for you. My kitties didn't go easily but eventually they came around. They are still a tiny bit fickle. They still prefer to have some of their favorite wet food dribbled over the top of the raw but I cannot complain they are doing so good! Congratulations! way to go

Oh Bishop will get fussy at times too...I think it is in a cat's nature to be fussy laugh out loud He gets fed 3 times a day - some days he'll eat all meals no problems and some meals he won't eat unless I smear some canned on top. But I am starting to understand why...I started paying closer attention....I haven't really fed much beef and I fed it with chicken the other day and he ate a few pieces of chicken and walked away. I noticed one of the beef chunks was bitten but not finished. I tried offering the plate to him later and he turned his nose up again. Once I smeared canned on he still wouldn't eat it, so I took off the beef and then he ate the rest of the chicken. I am starting to notice that when I give him pork he sometimes does the same thing. Although he is better with the pork than the beef. I now know that his favorite meat is chicken. Because that is mostly what I feed him and he usually finishes the plate right off with no canned smeared on top. big grin It's taken alot of patience to get to this point but now that I am starting to understand him better I won't bother with the beef. Maybe once in a while with a bit of canned on top but why bother? It only upsets us both shrug

Hey all, our two cats joined the group, Natasha and Naythan. Natasha has been eating raw for almost two years now. A couple times I went back to kibble, but I always switched back to raw. And Naythan has been eating raw ever since I brought him home! We love raw!
