Hi All,

I have a question about some peculiar and funny behavior, that my Turkish Angora has started exhibiting recently.

If you go to his page http://www.catster.com/cats/417127, and look at the last photo... you will see him staring (or one might say stalking) his brother, who is sleeping peacefully in a cat bed. This went on for quite some time. It was absolutely hilarious, but as time passed, it got a little creepy. Finally his brother woke up, and he took over the bed.

Being an adopted stray to two cats from the same litter, Angie has always been #3 on the totem pole. This seems rather brave considering, don't you think?

As the title of this forum states "Turkish Angoras, Not Like Any Other Cat"... so I thought I would share.

Thanks! You're all Pawsome!

I'm just past the one week mark of living with a Turkish Angora. I've seen very similar behavior in Shamrock! (We found out from the vet today that he has significant hearing loss.)

Anyway, Shammy loves following other cats around the house, batting at their tails if they're asleep or resting, and generally just putting himself smack dab in the middle of whatever's going on. Oh, and knocking things off of tables! My goodness! He also gives the best headbutts of any kitty I've ever known.

I've had lots of cats, but the Turkish Angora is a 'cat of a different color' for sure! Loving, entertaining, and altogether a blast! kitty

Great insight, thank you.

Now that I read your response... Angie does all those things too! That is, when the other two aren't looking. Also, up until that day, I don't think I had ever seen him in that particular bed. I guess this is just the latest thing of interest to him.

Gotta love a Turkish Angora! Thanks again!

My Turky(Zeki) will follow around my neighbors cat. And if she climbs into a a box or basket, HE must have it. He will harass her until he can sleep in the box or basket. Funny thing though, he won't protect his food from her. BUT he does try and cover his food up with paper, or a towel that I sit the bowl on. He really loves head butts tosmile
He also eats with his paw instead of sticking his head in the bowl. It is the funniest thing I ever seen. I even tried a paper plate instead of bowl but he will still eat with his paws!
