Lucy Too came into my life on 18th December 2005. I had phoned my vets to ask for a repeat prescription for Bugs and they asked if I had room for another cat. Lucy had been abandoned at the local RSPCA clinic. Her family had brought her in to be put to sleep because they had bought home a dog and she hated it!! Our vet refused to put her to sleep on those grounds and got them to sign her over. He noted she had something wrong with her front leg and x-rays showed it had a partially healed compound fracture. Because is was partially healed out of alignment he had to remove the leg. It's most likely Lucy had been hit by a car as she had a lot of damage to her teeth too. She was so incredibly nervous to begin with and I wondered if she would ever calm down. Thankfully with much love and affection she is a much happier cat now. she is still very nervous of loud noises and strangers but has proved to be a very loving and affectionate cat.

My human parents saw me at the Cats Protection, they decided they wanted a companion for Willow in case they had to be out all day,and thought a rescue cat would be the right way to go - but mum secretly wanted a pedigree! Well there I was on their second visit (they decided they'd go every fortnight to see if the right cat was there), yowling my head off and looking pretty damned unlovable, but I caught mums eye as I had such a lovely expressionful face and dark brown coat, and she knew those yowls were just cries of wanting to be loved, so that was it. She didn't want to leave without me, and nagged Dad, and then they had a homecheck and the next day they came to get me!
I was very lucky the CP got me, as I was with loads of other cats, being hoarded by a dodgy breeder, who were very poorly, in horrible cramped conditions in cages, being fed on stale bread and dog biscuits. Now I have a whole house to play in with my new pal Willow, beds and humans to sleep on, yummy food, plants to nibble and sniff, and trees to climb, and cuddles whenever I want! applause
