I am CGC, I COULD have passed the TDI test but I (mom) felt it would be cheating since Bis is still a little nervous around kids. Also when they try to take the food away, he doesn't bite or growl but lunges for anothr bite of food. This is something he just started and I don't know what to do about it.

P.S. we are slowly getting over our fear of kids. This week we went to earth day and lots of kids petted him. He didn't really care.

Mokey

I'm ready to- play! Where's- the toy?

We like visiting as a group too, because there's more interaction, and some volunteer's strengths and weaknesses dovetail nicely with others. (Mokey the young therapy cat, for example, became nervous when somebody with Parkinson's was very agitated; the dogs on the team were not at all bothered.)

Mokey, at 11 months old, is STILL learning ... most of the time he's very good. This past Saturday he sat in one woman's lap quite calmly for several minutes. Usually, however, he's still a bit better if I'm holding him out for people to see. I think he will develop more confidence as he gets older - Muppet didn't sit on beds or on laps until she was nearly two, although she started later (at just over a year), he started when he was 7 months old....

We hope to eventually train our new puppy up as well!

Hi Everyone,
Chugs and I are new to dogster. Our mom is now disable and wants to train us as therapy dogs so we can get out of the house with her. As you see we are small and we love kids. Mom's income is very limited now, so do you know if any of these groups are low cost or free? Do you think at 3 years old we are to old to start?
