I am a member of Defenders of Wildlife which does just that-Defends Wildlife. I do get email updates and am sent petitions and am urged to sign. Also, you can go to www.savewolves.org to find out more info. I'm not sure if you can get involved until you have created an account. Also, they keep you up to date with all the legal stuff, etc. The website I gave you is just the link to their wolves section. They support more than just wolves, though. Anways, I just personalized an automated letter to my local rep. to support passing the PAW act, which supports ending the aerial wolf hunting in AK. If this bill is not passed, it is a possibility that the aerial hunting may continue into WY and ID. So, please take action and support the wolves. They have no voice against cruel humans. So, please help act as their voice.

Defenders of Wildlife (http://www.defenders.org) is the most pro-active organization I know of very greatly involved in trying to stop the hideoous practices of killing wolves (inluding the obscene pratice of aerial gunning of wolves from helicopters). If you join Defenders you will get e-mail updates and requests to sign petitions to be sent to state and federal legislators regarding these issues. This is a wonderful organization, dedicated to all wildlife, but particularly wolves (recently de-listed from the Endangered Species list). The best way to do everything you can to try to save the wolves is to join Defenders of Wildlife! If you join, you won't feel so helpless about this horrible situation!

I wish I could do something, but I don't think I could join those sites. It's really hard for me to keep updated on this and dailypuppy so I don't wanna give myself anymore of a reason to be on the computer and not with Casey! I'm sorry and hope you understand. If not, message me and I'll try to help you get what I mean. If you have any patitions you want me to sign, I will if it helps the animals of any sort, just send me the link! I wanna help, but I don't know how other than signing patitions... Sorry. Send every patition you can find to me. If I agree with what you are sending me, I will sign. So, please send 'em!!!

Hi everyone! dog
I just joined your group, & my name is Shelby. My mom & I are active in many areas of the animal rights movement, & protecting wolves is one issue we have been passionate about for years.

We can all breathe a sigh of relief that Sara Palin didn't get into office, but she still wields power in Alaska, & has vowed to continue aerial hunting to slaughter wolves. I'm not a violent pup, but if I could get my paws on her...

ANYway, I'm happy to find you all, I recently became pals with Lady, which is where I saw your group. My mom & I have been members of Defenders of Wildlife for many years, and highly recommend that you look into them, they are a very fine, dedicated group.

Well, that's all for now... except one more thing~ please, if you have a minute... check out the link & petition on my page (right above my Dogster badge, right side of the page about midway down) to help our brothers & sisters in Korea & the Philippines. Horrendous cruelty is going on there, torturing dogs (AND cats) before slaughtering them for meat. It is really quite disturbing, their fur is also used and can be found on the very toys (some of us) buy for our own dogs & cats. The pain and agony these poor dogs are suffering is staggering. Their limbs are pulled out of their sockets, tied up behind their backs, jagged tin cans rammed onto their muzzles, and the dogs being used for meat have their fur burned off with blow torches. These people believe that the more a dog suffers, the better he will taste, & the more "virile" the men who eat him or her will be. "Officially" these dog meat markets are illegal, but just as here in the U.S., animal protection laws are all but ignored and rarely enforced. All of this brutal carnage goes on unhindered, in front of their terrified companions, while children walking by watch, & grow up to be desensitized to this atrocious cruelty. PLEASE don't turn your head away, we all have to stand together to end this insanity. Thanks for listening, I hope to hear from you all!
