Food Recall - Important!!!

As someone who works at a pet hospital, the following was part of a communication that we received as part of this - This information is public knowledge, and is not in any way divulging anything proprietary from my work... I hope that this helps answer questions here regarding the recall. Shady may well have ended up getting renal failure as I had been feeding her one of the foods on the list...

For a list of specific types of food, please tell clients to call the Menu Foods phone number at 1-866-463-6738 or visit the Menu Foods website at www.menufoods.com/recall.

According to Menu Foods, no other Pet food, including dry or prescription foods, is affected by this recall at this time. Royal Canin diets are not impacted by this recall.

PetSmart has posted signs in their stores providing alternative foods for dog and cat Pet parents to purchase.

Pet parents can substitute the impacted foods with any dry food from the same brand or use alternative non-Menu Food canned or foil pouched wet foods such as:
• Wet can/pouch cat food substitutes – Friskies, Fancy Feast, Pro Plan, Whiskas
• Wet can/pouch dog food substitutes – Mighty Dog cans, Pedigree, Alpo, Cesar, Pro Plan

PetSmart has decided that they will not pay for medical care for Pets impacted by the recall. This includes both foods purchased at PetSmart and at other retailers. **This means that any and all medical care for your pets will be at your expense**
