We have been to Fort Funston four times now, including on Mother's Day - we just can't get enough of that place. I must have 600 pictures of my boys and my pup and my man mixing it up in the sand, the waves, and with lots of other pups. Last week we went to try Point Isabel north of Oakland, (Richmond/El Cerrito/Albany area) supposed to be the nation's largest dog park. It was nice along the water but the jetty was lined with chunks of rock (rip-rap is it?) so not the same as a dog running in and out of the surf. Much easier to get to for anyone handicapped, a parent pushing a stoller, for little kids on bikes, etc. But does not compare to the natural beauty and wonder of Fort Funston - not by a mile!
