(Austin, TX) Foster/Adoptive Home Needed: Adult Lab/Pit mix

Diamond is once again searching for a forever home. Her adopters are separating and neither will be taking Diamond with them.

All Jack's Angels' foster homes are completely maxed out and since it's puppy season, our adoptions are slow. Our only option for Diamond would be to board her at a kennel but we do not feel she would thrive in that kind of situation.

Diamond spent the first two years of her life in rescue. She was removed from her first foster home after being mauled by her litter mates at five or six months old at which time she was taken in by a Jack's Angels foster home.

Diamond spent a year and half in her Jack's Angels foster home. Like many shy dogs, it was difficult to find Diamond a suitable home.

Diamond is just as deserving of a good home as any other dog. She is the most loving and loyal dog once she gets to know you. She's lived with cats throughout all of her placements. She is also dog friendly, although weary of some large dogs.

We know it won't be easy but we would much rather Diamond go directly to her forever home or even to a foster home rather than staying at a boarding kennel until one is found.

If you live in the Austin, TX area and would like to provide Diamond with a permanant or temporary home, please immediatly contact Jack's Angels.

Diamond's situation is becoming more urgent. We have only a few weeks to find a foster or permanent placement for her. Please spread the word!

Diamond was returned to Jack's Angels in August 2006. Because we already have two well established packs/small groups of large dogs at Jack's Castle, we boarded Diamond at Century Animal Hospital for three months. This cost us more than $2,500 that we didn't have. Her adopters who returned her a year after placement have not helped support Diamond in any way whatsoever. In November, Diamond was kicked out of boarding due to holiday boarders. Her only option was to come here. For the past four months, Diamond has been back at Jack's Castle. She is enjoying the cats and puppies but as we suspected is completely overwhelmed by our big dogs which are a completely different set since she was last here. We are determined not to give up on Diamond as so many others have in her life. She's a wonderful dog who listens and behaves very well. She's truly a people pleaser but needs a secure adopter who is fine with giving her adjustment time and doesn't expect an instant friend. Once you have her trust, Diamond is the most loyal dog and will never leave your side.

Please help us get the word out about Diamond. If you know even one person that may be able to provide her with a good FOREVER home, please have them contact us.
