Mom's favorites. But she also likes to read history and other kinds of non-fiction. She is a librarian and so can get hold of lots and lots of books.

She has been reading since she was about 3. Gramma says that she used to sit in the corner with a board book when she was a tiny lumpen child and she hasn't put them down since.

Anybody want to trade recommendations?

Wow, we would love to be in a library all day!

Mom used to read the James Patterson books and also the Patricia Cornwall.

Haven't read a really good ghost story in a while - I think it was Surprise Party by Jon Katz, though!

There is an old anthology by Phyllis Cerf and another author that we get every Halloween - real oldies

My favorite mystery books are the Pretty Little Liars books. They are GREAT books!

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, The Vampire Diaries, Chasing Fire and Cross Country are all great books to read.

blue dogYes! A librarian in our midst. My mom hangs out in our super small- town library as much as she can. She just loves being around books and all things books. She doesn't even want a Kindle-like downloadable thingee, she says. She can order almost any book she wants and the library still has money to buy it....how great is that? Currently she's in three book clubs - two of them for mainly dog books. dog

A librarian how cool!

I finally started Girl with The Dragon Tattoo, and I have heard so many good things about it. Everyone has told me though that the first chapter is hard to get through (which I am currently reading & so far agree) but the rest is amazing.

A friend of mine gave me 2 books to read that would fit this category, one is called House of Dark Shadows & Morpheus Road: The Light

New mystery/lawyer series discovered by Jesse's Mom

David Rosenfelt writes the Andy Carpenter series. Mom just finished "New Tricks." At first she thought she was not going to like this writer's style and that the storyline was obvious. Little did she know how things would improve. Rosenfelt has several books featuring dogs in the Andy Carpenter series. "New Tricks" has a golden retriever (like me!) and a Bernese mountain dog puppy featured. The writer and his wife started the Tara Foundation which rescues mainly goldens. For more info:www.davidrosenfelt.com. Mom said she may start the next one tonight - "Dog Tags." Just so she doesn't ignore me as much as she did while reading "New Tricks."

Thanks for the recommendation. I requested it from our library. book 1.

We are in the midst of the series from James Patterson about the women's murder club. We didn't get book 1 but have loved book 2, 3 and are on 4. We are doing this set through CD while mowing mostly.

dog It's me again. Mom got this call from the library, but she hadn't requested any books. Lo, and behold, her favorite librarian ordered the newest David Rosenfelt book: One Dog Night, featuring Tara, the golden retriever and a huge mastiff, name forgotten. Anyway, so now she's into that one and ignoring me as usual when a good book comes along. But, I'll give her credit...the author notes say this writer lives with 27 of us goldens!!!!!Paradise...dog
