So Mommy called the Saint John Animal Rescue League on Thursday saying she and Daddy were ready to foster again. Shelley, the manager, called her back right away and told her about a special case they had for her.

Willow (AKA Pussy Willow) was brought in by a retired vet who still gives the shelter free advice and is on the board of directors. Willow was a stray and is pregnant, but the GOOD news is there is a woman, who lives on the same street as the vet, who is willing to adopt Willow once her kittens are weaned! happy dance

So Mommy is on kitten watch for the next little while! Willow doesn't look to be too far along. She is quite thin, so Mommy is trying to fatten her up. She is also quite scraggly looking and was quite obviously a stray. She's a medium haired brown tabby and will be absolutely stunning under the proper care! Mommy can't wait for new foster kittens! Wish us luck! cheer

Good Luck and post often on how it's comming along. It's so wonderful that the Mama cat has someone willing to adopt her when the kittens are done. happy dance

Hehehe, that's why Mommy started fostering, so there would always be kittens around. wink

Willow is settling in quite nicely. She has a mild URI, but is already feeling much better thanks to the proper care. Mommy really loves her already and can't wait to meet her babies. cheer

She is doing great! happy danceShe is much healthier, her coat is so much shinier and her belly is really starting to fill out. She has been with us 3 weeks today! We don't think she was pregnant long before she came here, as Mommy thinks she still has a way to go but it's a waiting game now. kitty

Aww, I'm very happy for you. Its so nice to get to know the mummy cat before she has kittens to protect, is she enjoying the fuss?

You guys aren't going to believe this... Willow is actually Willard! shock

The kitty has been here almost 7 weeks. Mommy noticed it was gaining weight, but nothing like pregnant kitties do, and she could never feel anything in the tummy, neither could Daddy. Mommy always thought the kitty had very masculine features, long face, etc. but never thought anything of it and where the kitty has long fur, the back end wasn't very noticable. Well Mommy finally got suspicious, made Daddy hold the kitty and yep, Willow is a boy, renamed Willard!
shock

So we're not sure if the mistake was made by the retired vet who rescued him, the shelter OR if we were given the wrong kitty, but on the bright side, the kitty is nice and fat off of kitten food the past 7 weeks and nice and healthy. LOL Hopefully Willard will go to his forever home sometime later this week.
