As we all know, the economic crisis has really hit the Tennessee Crew quite hard... Teal'c sent out a desperate cry for help in adopting out some of his furrmily...

If you want to assist them, but you can't adopt a kitty, please consider donating what you can to help them pay for food and medical expenses for this very unique family.

At this time, if you wish to donate, pawmail or email me and let me know how much you wish to contribute. I will accept checks and cash and eventually will set up PayPal for this purpose.

All monies collected will be reported to the group.

I'm just thinking off the top of our heads, but if we could post in as many groups as we can for a $1 donation from every kitty in the group.... can you imagine how much money we could get?

Pearlie and Hemmingway .... is this legal? I'm willing to work on this as a possibility to raise money to feed kitties!

Hey Rascal, do you know if the fundraiser was successful? Again, I think the money should go for food only and possibly any vet bills. We can give gift certificates or find out the store/company they purchase feed. You suggested that Pearlie.... right?

Muppet's Bucket raised almost $8000. They have offered to let us use their PayPal account. It is good to have this approved by HQ before collecting anything, although as long as the fundraising remains within the group and does not move to the public forum/threads, it is not required.

Since we are waiting to see what happens with the other group, I suggest we continue using this thread for brainstorming, but not for any type of pledge. I have received e-mails expressing interest in assisting, and I will hold on to them until I know what we're doing.

As for food and vet bills, remember that in a case where there are as many cats as they have, there are other ancillary expenses that arise. I think that limiting them to just those two may not be as helpful. Just a thought.

is there any way that if they get enough monthly donations and gift cards to the pet supply stores, that they can keep housing all their kitties, or is it just too much ?

Another idea that was used for Muppet's bucket was an online auction. Several people donated items and they were auctioned for the highest big. We don't know how to go about doing this but if anyone else does, we have a few things we can donate.
