 | | | | Whew!! That was really close Brambleclaw!" Leafpaw wheezed.
"I don't like the way Marshpelt spoke to me..." Brambleclaw said, almost to himself.
"Well, Brambleclaw! You can't expect every cat from every clan to love you!!" Leafpaw exclaimed.
"No, no, it's not that!" He responded crossly, "It's just that, well, I think something big is happening there...something that they're not telling us..."
With a sigh, Leafpaw said,"If they need our help, they're going to have to ask for it." This didnt seem to ease Brambleclaw, but they had bigger problems as they reached the thorn entrance to ThunderClan.
"Where Have You Been??!!!" a deep voice scolded as the two cats walked into the clan.
"Oh,,,me....we...went out.erm..explorin---no...hunting.."Brambleclaw and Leafpaw tripped over their words as they tried to silently make up a story they could agree on. Hunting would be no good, seeing as they brought nothing back.
With her head down, Leafpaw mewed,"I thought I smelled something funny, but it was just-the-a-kittypet from twoleg place. He was far from his home." Brambleclaw's eyes grew wide, Leafpaw never lied to anycat! Apparently, she wasnt very good at it either..."You two were also a bit far from home, now weren't you?" called a slightly mocking voice just appearing through the entrance. Leafpaw narrowed her eyes at Crowpelt and hissed through her teeth, "this does not concern YOU."
"Oh, I think that the clan's business concerns me??." Brambleclaw rolled his eyes, Crowpelt was known to boast and act like clan leader, when he was just barely a warrior.
With a smirk, he added so everycat in the clearing could hear, "I was passing by the WindClan border."He paused dramatically ,"and well, they said to pass on some news to our leader...He said to watch your APPRENTICES and keep them out of WindClan grounds." Crowpelt finished putting emphasis on apprentice, even though, Brambleclaw was a warrior.
"Brambleclaw, Leafpaw, Could you come to my den for a talk.." their leader ordered.
Heads down and tails drooping, the two walked side by side into the spacious den. | | | | |
