Mom found a book called The Real Mrs. Miniver at her favorite used book store. It is a bio of the woman in England who wrote a newspaper column that was the basis for the Mrs. Miniver movie. She toured all over the US to encourage us to join in to help the UK and Europe during WWII. She was NOTHING whatsoever like the Mrs. Miniver character, but people in the US confused her with the character. It was quite interesting.

Jesse, I waited to see if the original poster was going to answer about the Hunger Games...guess not.

I LOVED this one. It is in the future when the Capitol city has 12 surrounding poor districts where rule is absolute and trade divided up so they serve the Capitol. Children are chosen from a lottery system to do a televised Survivor type of program. The winner, the one who doesn't die, gets perks (food and honor) for their district until the next set of games. It is fascinating.

I listened to it by audiobook. It would be a good one to garden by if you don't commute.

Mom doesn't commute anymore - she had to explain that to me. Since she moved to CO, she's been retired and only commutes to Wal-Mart when necessary. She's never listened to an audio book 'cause she thinks she'd keep falling asleep. She needs some serious help, me thinks. Thanks for the explanation,Zak. It sounds like an interesting premise for a book series. dog

It is a weird feeling listening to a book when you aren't in the car but it works IF you a busy doing a mindless task that you can't fall asleep doing....gardening, cleaning a stall, spraying your driveway, going on a walk. The only problem is that I LIKE listening to the birds and nature sounds if they are there.
