I can't believe it is Turkey Time already! I am happy and sad at the same time. I am thankful for all my dear friends whom I have grown to love over the years, but I am so sad to see many of our dear friends facing illness and sadness! So tonight, let's eat and be thankful and light candles in rememberance of those who could not be with us tonight!
Let's see! We must build a nice fire in the fireplace to keep us nice and toasty! Let's also put nice big candles on the mantle and arrange some pine cones around to make the room smell really good. Hard to beat the smell of the turkey roasting in the oven though isn't it!
The table is set with autumn-leaf placemats and apple candlesticks. Also, everyone has a large round candle to light and take home to burn in prayer for our dear friends. Don't want too much on the table since we have so much food! Want to see the menu?
MENU:
Roast turkey with black-eyed peas and cornbread stuffing
Traditional mashed potatoes and gravy
pecan Green Beans
JBs special sweet potatoes
Seething Broiled Lobster and Cod
Smoked Salmon with Stuffed Puffs
Sauteed Brook Trout with Brown Butter and Pecans
Cranberry Sauce
Home made biscuits
Pumpkin Pie with whipping cream
Apple Crisp
Catpagne of course!
Hot Apple Cider with cinnamon sticks
Hmmm I'm getting hungry just posting this. Oh, and if I have too much catpagne tonight and forget, there is a basket by the door for everyone to take home filled with:
Apple and Banana Catnip toys
Feline Liver and Chicken Greenies
kookamunga Catnip
Kitty Birds Feather Toys
Peacock Feathers and
Large tin of Catnip Tea and Teapot for MOM!
Well I'll be back. Still have to get dressed and do a few more things before the party! Can't wait to see you all!
Hugs and Purrs,
Toulouse
OUR THANKSGIVING PRAYER
A CAT'S PRAYER
(Fleur Puss)
Thank you, God, for harvest-time,
For milk, for meat, for fish,
Thank you, God, for all the food,
I find upon my dish.
Thank you, God, for Autumn time,
When leaves come tumbling down,
Thank you for their pretty colours,
Red, and gold, and brown.
Thank you, God, for giving me,
A lovely coat of fur,
Thank you, God, that I can talk
By means of mew and purr.
Thank you for my happy home,
Where love and care abound;
Thank you for its warmth and comfort,
Always to be found.
Thank you, God, for all the gifts,
That life has given me;
Dear God, who made us all, I raise
My humble paws to Thee.
And thank you God for all my friends,
Who always show their love to us -
from the beginning to the end! (Last part by me - T.)Edited by author Sat Nov 22, '08 4:34pm PST
