A very young black mama cat and 3 babies were dumped outside our house a month ago. We caught the babies and they are handleable, but still a bit skittish. Mama is precious but unspayed of course - we can't keep them. There are already 9 of us indoors and 2 others outside - how are we gonna home these sweeties? Kittens are totally black, long hair - one has a neck wound we are working on. I'm afraid of Craig's list and worry about sitting in front of Walmart - I think babies are too big for anyone to use them for snake food - my gods what a horrible thing to worry about, but someone told me there are people who do that with tiny kittens. I'm just at a loss. Where do we turn?

How wonderful it is that you want to help these kitties!

Are there any no kill shelters in your area? Petfinder.com might be away to investigate shelters in your area as it has links to shelters that post there. I know some vets around where I live also help with rescue animals. Perhaps, there is a vet nearby you who would take the kitties or who would know someone / some group that could help you.

Best of luck!

Take CLEAR, photos of the kittens and post them on Catster WITH location...........also put photo's up at area vets and markets. A picture is worth a thousand words, but they need to show how adorable and irresistible the babies are so they have a better chance of being adopted. At the same time, do check out area cat rescue organizations.......I am with a Bengal rescue group....just google rescues in your area, if they can't take the kittens then maybe they will at least put their photo's up on their sites. =^Y^=

We've adopted three kitties through Fancy Feline Rescue of the South. Since they're long-hairs, they might take them in. Here's the web address:

They're in the Douglasville area...

Hope this helps!
