I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread like this. We all have so many things that we would like to share and maybe having them in one place may make it easier for all of us.

All of your friends on earth will miss you so very much, Simba. But, we'll make sure to tell them that we're all going to take such good care of you till they are reunited with you once again.



FROM FRIEND TO FRIEND

You're giving me a special gift,
So sorrowfully endowed,
And through these last few cherished days,
Your courage makes me proud.

But really, love is knowing
When your best friend is in pain,
And understanding earthly acts
Will only be in vain.

So looking deep into your eyes,

This is a wonderful idea Lacey. Mommie's favorite poem is still the one that she put on my page. I hope it will touch Simba's family, the way it did my Mommie:

How can I bear to lose you, my precious gentle one,
To know that you will not be here when my day is done?
So much of my heart, my love, have I given up to you,
How then can I stand the pain now that your life is through?
My sorrow overwhelms me, the tears so freely flow,

That is what our parents do for us when they help us cross to the Bridge. They give us Peace. It is very hard for them to go through, but it is a very special gift of love.

Dear Mom,

"I am just about to take a nap,
for I have been running free.
I was chasing butterflies, and one small bumble bee.
I have rolled around in catnip,
I have climbed high in a tree -
And now I will rest all cuddled up with others just like me.
I am in a truly lovely place.
it is right by Heavens gate.
I am not alone, and I am told this is the place to wait.
I have told everyone about you, they said you will not be late.
That though on earth long years will pass, I will meet you by the gate.
There is a bridge we will cross together~
It has a rainbow hue - And really it is so pretty here, that all I miss is you.
So please do not think about the things you did or did not do -

The vet gave this to my Mama the day she had to let me go.

The years I've worn you,
warm upon my shoulder,
ended here......
surprised to find us older.

And there was nothing
left to do today

A friend sent this to me the day Poppet left me and went to the Bridge.

"Weep not for me though I am gone
Into the gentle night
Grieve if you will, but not for long

It helped a little at the time, but all I wanted to do was hold him in my arms again. Jen will feel the same, but it does get a little easier but the longing for them never goes away.

LEND ME A KITTY

I will lend to you for a while, a kitty, God said.
For you to love her while she lives and mourn for her when she's dead.

Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe two or three,
but will you, 'till I call her back, take care of her for me.

She'll bring her charms to gladden you and (should her stay be brief),
you'll always have her memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return,
but there are lessons taught below I want this kitty to learn.

I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true,
and from the folk that crowd life's land, I have chosen you.

Now will you give her all your love, nor think the labor vain,
nor hate me when I come to take my kitty back again.

I fancied that I heard them say "Dear Lord Thy Will be Done",
