I found myself in this situation in April when I had my physical.

The vet said I could stand to lose a pound or 5, but so far I have no health problems. The vet confessed her five cats at home look just like me with the stretched stripes and flat back!!!

Because I am in a multicat household being free-fed, the vet suggested that grandma move the food bowl out of the way so eating wasn't a social thing, and she was told to let the bowl go empty! That was terrible!

But everything changed when Ryan came ... he's a kitten and he needed his food. So, not only is the bowl no longer out of the way (because grandma wants Ryan to be social), but Ryan gets kitten kibble, and it's most delicious.

So sweet Mysty, your solution is simple. You need to bring home a baby kitten. It works ... even though I didn't bring Ryan here, having him here has kept the food abundantly available! MOL

Oh, Mysty ... I know how you feel ... a few months back, my dad took me to the vet and that mean woman tried to draw blood and she couldn't do it ... she tried and tried until my dad yelled STOP ... she had the nerve to tell my dad that I'm too fat and that's why she couldn't find the vein ... well, in truth - yes I'm Rubenesque but I'm healthy ... mom got me Wellness diet food - and my skinny sister keeps eating it ... MOL MOL MOL ... I do have food issues - I love food, that's my issue!!!

Don't you feel bad - I think you're a stunningly, beautiful Rubenesque Diva!!!

Poor kit! Yeah I always get picked on in my house about my weight. Recently I went thru kitty depression and lost quite a bit of weight and the vet told my daddy that it was kind o a blessing in disguise! The nerve! Well daddy got so angry he's been sneaking me extra food, human food, any food and carrying it to me personally because he wants his big guy back!

So if you can't get a baby kit in your house just get depressed big grin

I know how you feel Mysty. The vet told my Mom the same thing. But then she brought home a new kitty and I get kitten kibble! But I chase him around so much she figures it's ok.

I have tried just not eating, but after 10 minutes of crying and mommy not giving in, I HAD to climb to get my food or STARVE! I just don't understand it!!! Mommy said my heart is enlarged, and my lungs have to work too hard with me being "chunky," I have NEVER heard of such a thing-I think she made it up so she doesn't have to spend so much on cat food!!!! My daddy came back from chasing deer (whatever those are), and he said, "Poor chunky girl." Did he move my bowl??? NO!!!cry

Mysty ... I'm laughing at my meowmy because she keeps putting diet food in my bowl but my sisfur - who's very svelte - keeps eating it ... MOL MOL ... so I sneak over to my sisfur's bowl and eat her food ... MOL MOL.

Listen to your meowmy, Mysty ... and enlarged heart could be serious so you have to eat the diet food ... I'll try to do the same and we can tell each other how we're doing - it'll be CAT WEIGHT WATCHERS ... MOL MOL

It just got WORSE!!! She moved all the bowls-I have to jump and move to get food-she is so wicked!! She is STARVING ME!!!! SEND TREATS!!!!!! She said she is going to post new pictures of it-the horror!!!!

Hey, Mysty ... those "deer" things sound like something we could actually eat ... worth looking into. I'm getting "healthy weight" food in my bowl my sisfur gets regular food in hers ... I've tried sneaking over to her bowl and would you believe mom pulls the bowl right out from under my nose and then slides my bowl under my nose ... as if I can't tell the difference!! Aren't there any laws against this??? Somebody please google "cat feeding laws" for me ... I'm too weak to do it myself.

I know!!! Mommy keeps saying it is for your own good. Now she has started a new torture-she makes a red light appear on the floor, now I know I can't catch it, but it drives me CRAZY to see it, so after trying to ignore it, I finally have to pounce on it. Then she makes the light run all over the floor-it drives me NUTS!!! Next thing you know I am running all over the place trying to catch the silly thing. She always laughs and says, "See you need to do this more often," as I lay out of breath on the floor. She is cruel I tell you-cruel!!!confused The worse part is Cleo just laughs at me. When mommy tries to get her to chase it she just stares at mommy's hand and rolls her eyes-why can't I be more like that? Why do I HAVE to try and catch that thing???
