 | | | | Hi! I'm new here ... fluffy Molly and Emma just invited me. Reading through this thread, Mama and I see so many of our favorites ... it's hard to choose just one! We love:
Barbara Kingsolver
Margaret Atwood
John Steinbeck
The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac
Tony Hillerman's Navajo mysteries
Ursula K. LeGuin
and some books by Robert A. Heinlein, particularly The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and Stranger in a Strange Land.
Lately we have been reading lots of Scandinavian fiction. Kerstin Ekman and Arnaldur Indridason are two current favorites. On the lighter side of things, we like Harry Potter, and this summer we are whipping through all the Warriors series ... it's far from great writing, but I love Warriors anyway, especially since I was once a feral kitty and so were many in my family! My Warrior name is Gingerswirl.
We also like reading nonfiction accounts of life off the beaten track - whether it's Thoreau or Jon Krakauer.
Chirps and mrrrrs,
Pixie | | | | |
