Bone Trick

To leave a bunch of bones for a friend:

1. Click the bone icon on your pals' page.
2. Press the F5 key repeatedly until the screen changes.

This should leave a bunch of bones on their page.

HOW TO CREATE A LINK TO YOUR NAME:

For example: Click on my name below and it should take you to my page....

Daisy Mae

Using Spaces allows you to post a HTML code without activating the HTML link.....

FOR EXAMPLE, MINE WOULD BE:

< a href="http:// www.dogster.com/dogs/327430"> Daisy Mae < / a>

WITHOUT THE SPACES IN BETWEEN ... if you want the live link to work, you HAVE to remove the spaces. This is just so I can show you.

(REMEMBER REMOVE THE SPACES.)

Dogster
(REMEMBER REMOVE THE SPACES.)

Adding hearts to your name:

To add hearts with your text, type, & hearts;

Don't leave a space between the & and hearts;

You must use the punctuation at the end of hearts too!

Should look like this:

Aside from language here are other tips:

1. Viewing Threads When you look at the main forums page... If you click on the title of the thread it will take you to the original post that started the thread... if you click on the Today/time it will take you to the most recent message posted.

2. Messages are attached to rosettes. Hover over one and it will say who sent it. Click on one and you can read the message the sender wrote you.

3. If you want to create Line Breaks in your Bio so that you have sections or paragraphs... copy and paste this line... Exactly this long _________________________________ where you want the paragraph to break.. Be sure to add one blank space in front of it and at the end of it and it will create a perfect line break like on my page... go look

It's cool! Even though I have plus now so I could use the extra bio fields I've left mine the way I first did it cause it's cooler... Ok cause I'm too lazy to change it I'll admit it

4. Live Links You will need to delete all of the blank spaces between the < / a > at the end.... I cannot paste up a sample without the spaces or it will turn the sample into a live link:

< a href=http://www.YourUrlGoesHere>The Words for the link go here< / a >

Upright Faces

>^..^< Kitty

x.x sleepy face?

^_^

O_O

-_-

6. *asterisks* Used to denote an action or something your dog is doing as opposed to saying such as:

*Kitai sat down and ate his corndog*

7. Giving Bones on a PC When you give a dog a bone, click the leave a bone link and open the window, you don't have to keep clicking that link to give more bones. As long as the "bone" window is open, you can hit F5 as many times as you want...it'll really load up the bones fast!

8. Tip on editing posts: If you want to correct a typo... just click on the little word "edit" at the top right corner of your post. It will then open to a window and allow you to correct, delete or add new text to your post and will then leave a little time stamp at the bottom of your post showing when you edited.

Everyone else please feel free to add any helpful tips for the new pups!

To give away rosettes and stars with can either get DogsterPlus:
http://www.dogster.com/subscribe.php

OR you can buy some zealies:
http://www.dogster.com/zealies.php

Zealies are like money, you can give your pals a gift! Leaving a rosette to a pup costs 1 zealie. Leaving a star is 5 zealies. A star is higher because it stays on their page FUREVER!!

Strolls are actually called Picture Stroll. Usually groups will have picture contests. The only thing you need to do is TAG a picture. If a group is having a pic contest, they will give you a tag. For example, we have a fave toy stroll. The tag for that is: royalfavoritetoy
To tag a picture, go to your photomanger and there should be a spot under it that says "Photo Tag" In the stop it gives you, just type in royalfavoritetoy. Or any other tags. (That is just an example of a tag)
If you want to view the picture stroll, go to the homepage and on the left side there is a lot of things to click on. Scroll down until you see Search Photo Tags. Click on that and in the space type in royalfavoritetoy or whatever picture tag you want to look up. Make sure you click on Exact Match YES because if you don't you might get pictures that are related to that tag but are not in the picture stroll

Ok, well this is a Dogster forum which is one of the choices up top, that says forums on it BOL! Those have all the Dogster forums.. they have some cool topics so check it out. But be careful, not everypup is nice in there.
Group also have their OWN forum... called group forum! BOL! If you go to our group home page you see "The Group's Name here" in big red letters. Click on that and your in the group forums! Anymore questions? Pmail me!

Do you get really confused about times? But don't worry! A lot of pups are confused about it too.
We ALWAYS use Pacific time (which Is Dogster time) to hold our events, parties, etc.
Pacific -- 5:00 PM
Mountain -- 6:00 PM
Central -- 7:00 PM
Eastern -- 8:00 PM

If you want you could put this page under your favorites so you can remember.

Welcome to all of you who are new. I thought that I would pass along some useful information on sites where you can go to get backgrounds and graphics to fix up your page.

www.catstercodes.twilightmoon.net
www.photobucket.com
www.glit ter-graphics.com
www.mycutegraphics.com
www.funnyspace.info

For those of you first timers and computer challenged like us- we started with Catster Codes. This site was put together by our own Neferkitty and his mommy. It provides a tutorial on "how to" add and delete things , and where in the biographical data section you needed to insert codes to make them work. Using the information we learned from there, we were then able to visit other sites and use the graphics. This was EXTREMELY helpful. You can also use this information to insert hearts around your name, like I did. We used it for Emma's page also, so we knwo it works with dogsters.

Hope that this helps you out. Keep purring!

To actually put the background you pick from one of the sites in the above post on your page, you copy the html code given for that design.

Then go to your account page and click on Modify Biography and Traits.

Then scroll down to Fun Stuff and click on that.

Scroll down just a bit to the Extra bios field.

Put something in the first little box that will help you know what the code is like maybe bground

Then in the big box, the body, paste the HTML code that you copied.

Then you can leave 100 for the HEIGHT,

Then click on Save the Fun STuff

Want to add stuff to your right margin like a slide show or glitter name?

You can find the HTML code for you slide show in the site you generated in.

If you need an html code for a photo, you can always open a photobucket account and download the graphic or pic. It will generate several codes for you. One of them will be an html code that you can use in the bio field or in a rosette.

Go to your account page and follow the directions used for adding a background above.

Only difference is you will adjust the height depending on how big what you are adding is. If it overlaps something else on the page, go back and add more height.
