	My owner/Mom works at a cat clinic, that happens to declaw, and she HATES it..... Everytime someone calls up to ask about how much it costs etc, she cringes and hands the phone to another employee. People think it's some "simple" procedure, when they're just ignorant and dont even know! That's the worst! Putting their cats through such a horrible tramatic surgery for no reason, and they don't even know what we're going through. It's disgusting. Check out the links I have attatched to the group.

	My mom runs an animal rescue and will not adopt the rescued kitties out to homes who want to declaw. She also has links on her rescue site that explain the procedure and all the complications that can arise. You can access that site through my page.

	Unforunately it's a sensitive subject at her work! She can barely speak to the other co-workers because it's a service they offer and to discourage it would be losing them business, thats how the look at it.....

	My Meowmy is a 4-H club leader, as well as the cat project superintendant for our county. She is working on having the 4-H kids do some sort of educational display for our county fair about the cruelty of declawing. It's mutilation! Kitties have a right to our claws. I know, I am preaching to the choir here. Some people simply need education about declawing, so many don't know how horrible it is. Our 4-H club is working on educating the public about declawing, as well as the importance of spay/neutering. My meowmy also volunteers at out local humane society so she sees a lot of people there and has talked to several people about declawing.

	That's good! Education is a big part of the problem! People just think it's a simple procedure, and their furniture is more important. It kills me that people do this painful horrible procedure JUST for vanity!
