I've heard people recommend not to feed kibble and raw in the same day as they are both digested slightly differently. Depending on the dog, an occasional meal of raw might give runs or tummy troubles. But if your pooches are fine with it, it definitely won't hurt to offer them raw a few times a week.
If you are going to offer a raw meal now and then, I would recommend going to the grocery store or meat market and picking up some fresh fryer chickens! You can pick them up pretty cheap and they are small enough that they will only last a few meals (depending on the size of the dogs) so you won't have loads of doggy left-overs sitting around. I just quarter them up and each dog gets a piece. They LOVE it! | | | | |
