 | | | | Glad I found this thread and am going to have to read through everything a little closer.
For some time I have been waking everyone up at night. Any time between 2 and 4 in the morning I have been meowing loudly and often sounding like I am in distress. Mom runs downstairs to find me with a toy in my mouth or batting it around. Sometimes she sneaks up on me so she can see what I am doing and what is wrong. EVERY time I am there with a toy. I cry to them as I carry them around.
Mom found this a little annoying at first, but settled into my routine. Then I started playing for a little longer. At least an hour of loud meowing and crying. Okay, she adjusted to that eventually. Then I started throwing in a 10:30 PM session, too. Well, within the last week I have had several days where I am doing this about every two hours around the clock. Mom is getting very tired and would love a good night's sleep. I'm also playing in the bedroom, often running across the bed and waking everyone up. Mom calls me over and I settle down for a few minutes, then I am off and playing again. Scampering all over the room and crying to the toys. I even carry the dogs' toys around and cry to them.
Does anyone know how to help me sleep a little more at night so everyone else can sleep, too?
A little background on me ... I am about to turn 22, and am on prescription food for kidney failure. I've had a couple of UTI's this year, but things seem to be okay right now. My eye sight is not as good as it used to be, but Mom has fixed up some lamps for me downstairs and they stay on all night now. That seemed to help at first. I have access to food and water. I just seem to have found a new burst of energy. Mom thinks I have found the cat nip mother load somewhere. Mom had made a video for facebook, but we just posted it here. You can hear what I sound like. Mom said turn up your volume so you get the full effect. I should point out that the first half of the video is me. The rest was my fursister, Pippi, playing with toys. Mom would like to point out though that Pippi was sleeping just fine and not playing with toys until I woke her up. Oops.
Hope someone has some advice.Edited by author Thu Dec 8, '11 8:26am PST
