Who dies in book 7?

That's a hard one, Winter. JKR said she cried over writing it, so it's a possibility, but if the main theme behind the stories is good vs. evil, I can't see her leaving it as evil winning...I mean, what would that say? So either Harry triumphs and loses somebody he loves, or he dies but Voldemort is vanquished somehow as well. The prophecy says they both can't live, but they could probably both die. If so, I hope it is a bittersweet reunion in that Harry is reunited with his parents. I really like Neville. I hope he makes it through okay!

id like to think that book 7 harry will triumph over voldermort,it would be a shame if they bumped him off now,cant wait till 12 july here in northern ireland the film is coming out,you guys are lucky if your in usa it will be open there this week,cry

im reading the half blood prince again for the must be 12th time in ready for the last book this month.awwwww im gonna cry,im a harry potter fan alright and kids say im to old ,but at 36 not in my book.

Mum is really excited about the last book coming out... she has some theories about everything. JKR said that 2 main characters will die that she did not originally inted to die and one main character got to live that she was going to have die. I don't think Harry, Ron, or Hermione will be bumped off. I think Voldemort dies (obvioulsy), but I also think that Arthur Weasley and Hagrid will die. Other death possiblities are Lucious Malfoy and Snape. I don't think Draco will die. I think he will be redeemed. These, of course, are just guesses. Any thoughts on who R.A.B is? Do you think it could be Regulus Black?

Oh I think R.A.B is Regulus Black. I also think LV sent RAB to hide the locket (horcrux) for him and set up the defenses. RAB knew LV would kill him just to keep the secret hiding place a secret.

As for who is going to get killed, I agree I think Hadgrid is going to die. I have mixed opinions on several others. If you saw the video of JKR's interview with J Ross last week, she said book 7 is a "blood-bath". She actually said that! Add in the fact this is the last one, I think this book may be an exciting but tough read.

I'm also thinking Harry is going to live. He may not live "Happily ever after" though. I just can't see JKR killing him after all he has been through. I'm also hoping Remus lives! He also deserves some happiness after such a lonely life. Unfortuantely JKR is killing off all of Harry's parental figures. I'm thinking Snape will die protecting Harry thereby showing Harry he was on their side all along and Harry will have a bitter pill to swallow then. oofta! I guess we will find out in just over a week. My humans can't stand it.wink

My mom says that no one is to disturb her on Saturday and possibly into Sunday until she finishes that book. The only acceptable reasons are Blood, Snakes, Fire, or Choking. Nothing else; the other humans have to handle it. But this could be cool because we can all get in bed with her while she is reading at night, for snuggles.

The Weasleys have cheated death so many times so far, I think that one of them may go. I would dearly love to see Draco bite it also. We love Neville and hope for great things from him in Book 7...think he's up to it now.

Well, since Gilley didn't really answer the question, I will come out and say that Voldemort dies and Harry lives. The prophecy says that one cannot live when the other survives, and I don't think that JKR would have evil triumph over good as opposed to the other way around...unless they both die, which I doubt likely. I'm intrigued about the promise of finding out more about Petunia, Lily, and Dumbledore history, among others, as is supposed to be revealed in this next book.
