	Since we have so many new Sistahs I would love to hear how everyone got their names. I got mine because my mommy thought I was a boy! (I was just 4wks old and all black) she named me Edgar Allen Kitty. But then my true tortie self showed through and the vet explaine to her that I was indeed a Sistah. Sooo mommy tried to think up a new name. While she was thinking I jumped from the couch to the coffee table. I did not realize said coffee table had just been waxed. Weeeeelllll I slid across it and onto the floor! Mommy has called me Edgarina Ballarina ever since.

	My mom was sure she got the most beautiful kitten in the world, I love to pose (see my studio photo), am a smart girl and brunette, so I was named after Cindy Crawford, nothing less could do. Miss Cindy

	I am from a Navajo reservation in Arizona, USA. There the native Americans often have two names like Little Eagle. Since I was considered extremely sweet, friendly, gracious, elegant, petite etc. at Best Friends where I was sent to and adopted from to Europe then I got the name Sweet Gracie instead of Calli which was my first name.

	Ha ha ha, my mom loved to watch I love Lucy in USA, and since I have some red on me then I got the name Lucy and she loves to say "I love Lucy" to me. I like that since it's so nice to have a mom after 3½ years in a shelter and now in my 6th and forever home......

	I received my namesake due to my gorgeous eyes. Mommy wanted an egyptian sounding name because it looks as if I have Egyptian style makeup framing my eyes. From Wikipedia - Nefertiti translates to 'the beautiful (or perfect) woman has come', so of course Neferkitty means ' the PURRfect kitty has come'.

	oh you all have such fantastic stories about how you got you names!! Mine is short sweet and simple!!! Mommy wasn't sure if I was a calico or not because I kinda look like I have an orange tiger and a gray tiger mixed into a calico!!! Very strange, but pretty fur I have!! Well, Daddy said we will just call me a calico--and that is how i got my name--Cali--the Calico(supposedly)

	Hi girls. My name is Meme and my human, (I call her my Nana cause my kitty Mama lives with us too) named me Meme, short for Screaming Meme!!! My Nana literally pulled me out of my Mama when I was born. Mama needed a little help cause I was coming out feet first. I was one of four kittens, but sadly I was the only one to survive. My Papa had just sprayed the carpets in our house for fleas and since I liked to lick everything, my Nana made us a bed in the kitchen floor and slept with me every night for a week. She said I would scream bloody murder whenever I rolled off the makeshift bed. My Mama's milk went dry, so my Nana had to take over feedling me. She gave me milk in a little bitty baby bottle. She said everytime I got hungry, (which was always) I would scream until she fed me. As I got a little older and more secure, I gave up screaming, so she shortened my name to just plain Meme.

	I got my name for 3 reasons. First, my mom has a boy name, Justin, so she wanted a kitty with a boy name too. Second, her favorite line from 'To Kill a Mockingbird' is 'Hey Boo!,' when the strange, solitary, and enigmantic Boo Radley just shows up at Scout's house one day, out of the blue. At first the kids didn't know what to think, then they made a new best friend. Third, she says that as soon as she saw me, she knew I was her boo. I think it suits me very well.

	I don't have a very interesting story for my name. I was a feral that loved people and wanted in that house, so I went in. I was way to cute to be turned away. Since I matched Cookie, they named me Oreo. It was only logical.
