Hi our mummy made us cats some sausage shape fur toys. They were about 6 to 8 inches long. Then she stuffed them and put cat nip in them. Wow we had a great time with them. You can hold them and you know that back feet kicking thing us cats do? Well they were long enough to do that with.
They were such a success with us all (8 of us here) she made a big bag full for the cat sanctuary.
So they need to be fur fabric sausage shape 2-3 inches wide 6-8 inches long. Stuffed and cat nip added to stuffing.
For a xmas idea you could use christmas fabric!!
Hows that for my first entry???

That bed looks soooo comfy! Mommy saw some material at Hobby Lobby that would have made a neat bed but last time she went back it was gone -- bummer!

Those catnip toys sound wonderful!

Mommy makes polarfleece blankets, and is making some right now for Christmas presents. They are the best place to nap! I can also play with the fringe, when she's not looking, and she gives us scraps to play with.

I got a big hint from my fiance that I *might* get a sewing machine for christmas! smile (woohoo! a whole new set of projects that never get done) I've only used the sewing machine maybe twice ever... is there a book of easy doggie clothes projects that I can use to get me going? smile

My mommy refuses to sew, she used to but she moved on; ... she might be tempted though with all the cute things she has seen on Catster... She did redo a vanity but the folded already hemmed material and attached it with a staple gun rather than sewing a stitch. She did make a pet bed though with a free lettuce box from Sam's, decoupage, rick rack , ball fringe, and altered scrapbook paper. She will share the how to's if you are interested. Love the soft orange cat bed by the way.

Nina is helping me learn how to navigate all this posting... so I think if you click on my picture... it will take you to my page... The pet bed is toward the bottom. Also, vote for me for naughtiest kitty please... I am a latecomer to the contest and mom only entered me in this one category... what's up with that?

Snowy did you get a sewing machine? There are some free sewing patterns online that you can adjust to fit your pup. I just printed off the one that was closest to Daisy's size and went from there. If they are not big enough you can take them to the photocopy place and enlarge them until they fit. The links are on the group page for the free dog coat I think. They even have a gallery of what other people have done with the pattern to give you ideas. I would start there then you can branch off into regular simplicity or Mcall's patterns.
