 | | | | Me? I like to both catch and fetch pipe cleaners (which cat-mom twists and neatly tucks the ends under so they won't be sharp). I like the thick chenille ones which are harder to find. Cat-mom thinks I am brilliant because I know the difference between the two similar sounding words .... Catch/Fetch. When she says "CATCH," I poise myself, seated stalk still waiting for her to throw the pipe cleaner (or the ring from a plastic milk carton) way up in the air, then I spring upwards and catch it in my front paws before it hits the ground. When she is ready for "FETCH," (you know how we have to humor our humans), I assume a standing 'ready to take off on all fours' position.... and then zoom to fetch the pipe cleaner she throws. I return it her, dropping it at her feet, and I can do this for a LONG time. She usually gives up before I do. She says I fetch better than any dog she's ever had, but I don't particularly think that's a compliment. Harrummph. Sometimes just to be mischievous, though, I will drop the pipe cleaner JUST beyond her reach. She'll tell me to bring it ALL the way, and I do, just because I want to show her I know EXACTLY what she is saying. But it's a fun game and it gives me exercise. Yes, and 'stealing' is always a fun game, although Mhari does that more than I do. | | | | |
