This is a special section for cats needing new homes and for inspiring stories of cats that have found their furever home through Catster or through the love and energy of rescuers. This is also the place to discuss shelters, rescue organizations, rescue strategies, issues, solutions, etc. and how we can all help in this critical endeavor. Remember that we are all here for the love of cat! If you are posting about a cat that needs a new home, please put your location in the topic of your thread so those close by can find you! Make sure to check out Catster's cat adoption center!

Tried to rescue a little tiny kitten from along a road near a wooded thicket here in MI. It's meows drew us to her. Husband, son and I crawled around in a boggy, mosquito-infested, poison ivy ridden forest for 20 minutes to no avail. While I don't need another cat, I would have taken it in. She wanted to come to us but was too frightened. My heart is heavy tonight that he/she wouldn't let us get close enough. Going to try again tomorrow, but it'll be like finding a needle in a haystack in thick woods. I just don't want her to be coyote food!

You could always try a live animal trap with some nice smelly wet food in it? Lord only knows when else you might catch instead though...

Bless you and your family for trying to catch this kitten. Yes, a "Humane' trap would be a good idea....good luck and keep us posted.

We are also having problems with coyotes all over the Greater New Orleans area. One even got a small dog while his owner was at City Park. People have reported missing cats and small dogs all over the area.
