So Meowm has been toying with the idea of switching everyone to raw. We're on wet food only now (grain free of course), so we are close to making the switch.

Unfortunately, there have been two huge obstacles to that switch-- lack of time to research properly how to do raw, and the cost of commercial raw which is really high considering that there are more than 2 of us now (plus the dogs). She is so busy she barely has time to feed herself 2 meals a dayfrown

With that said, she ran into a friend who recommended this product available at www.tcfeline.com.

Has anyone ever tried something like this?

One formula allows you to add premade powdered vitamins, mix with water, and mix with ground or cut up chopped raw meat.

Meowm doesn't think she can do the whole prey thing, so was wondering if this might be a healthy alternative?

If not, it will be grain free wet I guess!

Thanks,

Milo

Yes, I used this, back when it was Feline Future TC, when I first switched to raw. It is a very good product for introducing your cat to raw.

There are a few supplements like this. We tried the one called Alnutrin. It comes both with and without calcium depending on if you're grinding meat with bone or not. BK won't eat ground meat so we had to go to prey model, but if your cats will eat ground these are good products.

Milo, BK and the dyna kitties momma wrote a great page on my website that gives very complete instructions on feeding raw. It's really detailed and pretty much all the information is right there: http://ibdkitties.net/rawinstructions.html, this might help you a lot.

I tried it back when it was known as Feline Future. It's pretty good smile Here's the web site, http://rawmeatcatfood.com/

Another similar product is Better In The Raw.

Don't use ground meat. It contans bacteria mixed throughout the meat shock I guess from the dirty supermarket or butcher shop grinders that are used for all sorts of meats. http://catinfo.org/?link=makingcatfood has more info about this. Buy cuts of meat and finely chop it up or grind it yourself at home.
